Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites
Placerville, California

OPENING Fall 2009

DESCRIPTION

Situated close to famed Highway 49, off Highway 50 at the entrance to the historic town of Placerville, California, The Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites will be the perfect place to conduct business, explore the gold, apple and wine country, or hold your next conference, family vacation, wedding or other special event.

This Holiday Inn Express is unique as it is freeway accessible, serves as the gateway to the high Sierras and also is the "hub" for El Dorado County Premier Wineries, Apple Hill Ranches, the American River and the El Dorado National Forest. The hotel offers a 1200 sq feet covered/heated event patio and 3000 square feet of flexible conference space, including a grand ballroom that will seat over two hundred guests to compliment 112 state of the art guest rooms and suites. Rooms and suites are creatively designed to cater to the executive traveler as well as families. In addition, within the hotel's spacious retail space you will find the Tourism Center for the areas well-known wineries and Apple Hill Attractions.

Enjoy the daily complimentary executive breakfast and during the weekdays, the complimentary evening cocktail reception, as you discover what other visitors have enjoyed during this area's 150-year old history. Stroll through the historical nineteenth century architecture of olde Placerville, known as "Hangtown" in its early days, and discover Main Street with its antique and specialty shops, historical houses, vibrant galleries and quaint gourmet restaurants. Shop at the "oldest continuously operating hardware store west of the Mississippi", take an afternoon class offered by one of the local artisans/ chefs, or relax by the 100 year old Bell Tower, a monument to the city's volunteer firemen. Glance down the street and visualize where John Studebaker started his dream to create the famed Studebaker automobile. Stop by the Tourism Center at the Hotel and have their friendly staff assist you in planning tours of the local wineries and Apple Hill Ranches while also getting their ideas of how to enjoy the many other activities of the area including gold panning, river rafting, hiking, boating, fishing, golfing, and biking.
